2004 Best Of List...
01.01.05 | 7:30 am

In the spirit of leaving 2004 behind, it's time for my annual wrap up of reviews. How'd I do this year?

Number of books read in 2004: 160
Number of books read in 2003 (for comparison): 117
Average of books read per month: 13
Average of books read per week: 3
Daily average: 1 book read every 2.2 days
Percent of fiction read: 69%
Percent of nonfiction read: 31%

And now, for the best books of the year (in my humble opinion, of course!), in chronological order as read...

*Narcissus in Chains by Laurell K. Hamilton

*A Million Little Pieces by James Frey

*Boy Meets Girl by Meg Cabot

*The Probable Future by Alice Hoffman

*The Idiot Girls Action-Adventure Club by Laurie Notaro

*Dude, Where's My Country? by Michael Moore

*My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

*Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson

*Sammy's Hill by Kristin Gore

*Hidden by Paul Jaskunas

*America by Jon Stewart

*The Know-It-All by A.J. Jacobs

*The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Gregory

*Twelve Little Cakes by Dominika Dery

*Light on Snow by Anita Shreve

I was pleasantly surprised to see so many nonfic books creep onto my list, seeing as how I have a pretty major bias towards fiction. Cool. :-)

Can't wait to see how I do in 2005! Happy New Year!
